Brake motor ATC TYPE – ALTERNATE CURRENT BRAKE

The range includes axis heights from MEC 56 to MEC 280.
Up to an axis height of 132, the motors have an aluminium casing with long-life lubrication of the 2RS type, and modular fixing feet; the sizes from 160 to 280, instead, have a cast iron casing and SKF bearings, an external greaser for periodic lubrication and PTC sensors on the windings.
The ATC type brake motors have a brake powered by direct current and are characterised by a high braking torque: the disc brake (of aluminium with glued brake lining) is pressed between the rear shield of the motor (cast iron) and the mobile part of the braking group thanks to springs, the pre-load of which can be adjusted; the cooling fan, made of thermoplastic material, is keyed to the rear end of the drive shaft.
The brake is powered by three-phase alternate current, 230 V or 400 V, and it can be powered directly from the motor terminal board or separately.
